Plant a Seed, Watch it Grow

It was our son's 19th birthday a couple of weeks ago (speaking of growing! How did we get to be parents to a 19 year old?)

He requested apple pie for dessert. safely hidden in one of the apples was a seed and that seed was sprouting!

It survived the picking, the trip to the grocery store, the arrival to our home and the 'could've been more careful' chopping. There it lay, undamaged on my counter.

I showed my hubby.

"We should plant it," he suggested and filled a garden pot with soil.

We planted it on Feb. 2.

The sprout made it above ground by the 10th and it continues to thrive.

It is a joy to watch it grow. What will we do with it? Time will tell, but in the meantime, I'm going to enjoy seeing the leaves expand, reach up to the sunshine and grow.

I'll keep you posted on how this goes.

xo, Tracey
